San Antonio, TX, Jan. 2012 “Imitation is the Sincerest of Flattery” or so penned Charles Colton in 1820. To this extent the Quarry Hofbrau restaurant is very flattered. On opening night in May 2010, the Hofbrau introduced to San Antonio a really unusual drink…the Dos a Rita. It was one of several unique elements put on display on the very first night and founder Beau Roby very easily took his award winning Margarita recipe and combined it with an inverted bottle of Dos Equis . Within just months other nearby bars and eating establishments added a similar drink to the menu …some calling it a Dos a Rita…others trying to create another name for it. In the interim the Hofbrau management instantly created several other combinations to go with the Margarita base and at present has over ten other considerably popular Margarita companion combinations.. In 2011 the drink and its adaptations grew to become so popular a exclusive Dos a Rita menu was necessary at the restaurant to effectively promote the offering.

To prove this point one could simply rely on Google to identify how popular the Dos a Rita has become. And they will also confirm that the Hofbrau is still the place to enjoy this authentic creation. Even though its popularity has spread city/state-wide, it is rather common to hear comments that confirm that there is still something singularly magical, mystical and authentic about the Quarry Hofbrau’s authentic signature drink. Most experts also theorize it is the actual base ingredient… the Margarita recipe, while others marvel at the varied adaptations of the product.
